Named after the imposing neighbour of Everest, our original Nuptse pieces from the 1990s were the first to feature the innovative box construction: it prevents the down from settling to provide long-lasting warmth for the user. The 1996 Retro Nuptse down vest is a modern reinterpretation of an iconic piece. Most of the features are similar, such as the square silhouette, the shiny ripstop fabric, the visible zipper closure, the diagonal pockets and of course, the large boxes. In terms of improvements, we've given this model a responsibly produced 700-inch fluffy down with a water-repellent finish. The hood folds down into its collar and the entire down jacket can be stowed in its right pocket.
