While the Spheros SW has an impressive range of features and technologies, and will serve you in the most demanding situations, it is not a cheap alternative to a Stella or Twin Power! For inshore and boat fishing, it's an excellent low-cost option, but for continuous extreme fishing, for massive tuna, GT, grouper or sharks, you'll get the best for this price range. That said, for travel or vacation anglers who want their own gear, the larger sizes are an excellent choice with unbeatable value for money.
The Spheros SW is a practical and economical reel. With a HAGANE aluminum body, it's a rugged reel that doesn't mess around. The HAGANE Gear, X-SHIP combination is further enhanced with InfinityDrive to provide plenty of fluidity and power. And it features X-Protect (IPX8) water protection, which prevents water from reaching important parts. However, the brake doesn't have quite the same fluidity as its more expensive big brothers, and there are a few fewer ball bearings placed around the construction. That said, for all those less big fish, less rapide, the Spheros SW is an excellent choice, backed by Shimano's reputation for high quality.
