Although designed atorigine for sea bait fishing, it also makes an excellent freshwater reel for catfish, pike and carp. The attractive combination of black body and silver spool is unobtrusive and will suit most situations where a disengageable reel is required. Constructed in XT-7 composite from Shimano, this reel is lighter than it looks and is fitted with A-RB sealed bearings, which resist saltwater corrosion, so you can be sure they'll be perfect for freshwater fishing. The AR-C spool, with its unique angled lip, works in conjunction with Varispeed, Shimano's variable oscillation system, which provides excellent line winding with nylon and braid.
