Measures that matter

Whether you're an athlete in training or just trying to maintain a healthy weight, the Garmin Index intelligent scale provides the measurements you need to track your progress and results. It measures your weight (lb, kg, st), body mass index (BMI), body fat, water, bone and muscle mass.

It measures :

Your weight (kg, lb and st)

Weight is the amount in kilograms that a person weighs.

Your body mass index (BMI or BMI)

BMI is a method of calculation that takes into account your height and weight to determine if the weight/height ratio is healthy. (BMI = weight/height2)

Your body fat level

Expressed as a percentage of total weight, body fat percentage identifies how much of the weight is attributable to body fat (relative to muscle mass or body water).

Your water content

Expressed as a percentage of total weight, identifies how much of the weight is attributable to fluid in the body (relative to muscle or fat mass). It accounts for more than 50% of total weight and nearly 2/3 of lean body mass.

Your bone mass

This function indicates the amount of bone (bone mineral level) in the body.

Your muscle mass

This function indicates the lean body mass in relation to body fat and total body weight.

The muscle mass displayed includes skeletal muscle, smooth muscle (such as heart muscle or digestive muscle) and the water in these muscles.

Garmin Index is connected to Wi-Fi so you can sync your data wirelessly to Garmin Connect. From your computer or compatible mobile device, Garmin Connect lets you view your data in greater detail and assess your progress against your goals. The Index scale is capable of recognizing up to 16 people. Each person can then automatically load their body composition measurements directly into their own Garmin Connect account.
